Friday we were scheduled to meet with our clients to present their projects, but unfortunately the workload was too much and we were forced to pushed the meeting to Saturday. I despise Saturday meetings, but this one wasn't too bad:
1. The client LOVED everything. Small tweaks here and there, but overall everything was approved and is now moving forward YAY.
2. We had lunch at the restaurant (for free) after our meeting...love that perk!
3. Ran into friends while having our FREE lunch, and got a chance to catch up.
After that we hustled to the car rental place to pick up our ride for the weekend.
We drove to Limone (just 1.5 hours drive from Monaco). We left Monaco around 5pm, so we were in Limone around 7pm since we took a pit stop when one of the doggies got car sick with all the windy, twisty switch backs into the mountains. We arrived to our hotel: hotel marguareis....which was THE ONLY HOTEL WITH A ROOM. We booked last minute and had to pay the consequences. We arrived (with the dogs) and the first thing I notice on the door is the NO DOGS sign. Ah, shit....o well we will sneak them in. Checked into our room, no probs. Changed our clothes and went out to meet our friends for dinner. On our way back the hubs says "check out is tomorrow at 10:30am, what are we gonna do with the dogs while we ski tomorrow?". O man...small crisis.
After dinner, we stop at the front desk to book another night since clearly we can't check out at 10:30am. The lady proceeds to tell me that they can't keep us in our room they will have to move us. Ok, no probs. Then we head back to our room for bed. Let's make a note regarding this hotel...our room smells like piss, the bed cover is disgusting and smells so much that I can't sleep because it bothers me so much. Not to mention the bed and pillow are like sleeping on cement. Oh yea, and the walls are so thin that I can hear some other guy snoring all night. Needless to say we got an AWESOME night of sleep.
Wake up in the morning, head downstairs for breakfast. Not much to choose from...yogurt, cereal, a hot croissant, coffee and hot cocoa. The lady from the front desk comes over to our table to let us know that they have to put us in a different room for the following night, and it won't be ready until 2om...so they will just move our stuff into our new room once it's ready. PROBLEM....we have our doggies (who are staying here illegally). So we are forced to tell them about the dogs. They get pissed, and call a different hotel for us to stay in. All I can say is THANK GOD.
Our new hotel is nice and clean, the staff is friendly, bathroom is better AND we have a balcony with an amazing view. La Piazzetta, needless to say we will be staying here next time we visit Limone. Here's the link if you need it: http://www.lapiazzettalimone.it/!
So our Sunday morning was a bit stressful with the hotel move. But we finally head out to rent our ski gear and get to the mountain...and have an amazing day of skiing with great weather, great friends and only a few falls!! After that we headed back to the hotel where I proceeded to get the chills, and feel like shit. O NO...I'm getting the flu. I feel like I couldn't get warm and I proceed to get an excruciating headache which continues until mid day on Monday. No good.
